Development Permit
A Development Permit is required for most improvement projects including fences, sheds, garages, basement developments, decks and any new construction. Permits ensure that the project complies with the Land Use Bylaw and zoning requirements.

Please refer to the Guide to applying for a Development Permit before completing your Development Permit application.
The Development Permit application form requires you to provide certain information in order that the Development Officer can make an informed decision. We encourage you to contact the Development Officer prior to submitting an application to verify what type of additional information may be required. Failure to do so may result in processing delays. The application form must be completed in full by the registered owner of the property subject to this application or an authorized person acting on the owner’s behalf.

| All other zoning districts - First $100,000 | $75.00 |
| All other zoning districts- Every additional $100,000 | $25.00 |
| All other zoning districts - Maximum Fee | $5,000.00 |
If construction has already commenced, Permit fee is doubled.

Home Warranty Coverage
Under Alberta’s New Home Buyer Protection Act, builders are required to provide home warranty coverage for all new homes built in Alberta. No building permit will be issued unless warranty coverage or an authorization for exemption from the coverage requirement is in place.
