Councillor Resignation – Feb 25, 2025

Unfortunately, a letter of resignation from Councillor Roger Remillard was received and accepted by the CAO on January 29, 2024, Council formally reviewed this information at their February 12^th, 2025, Regular Meeting.

Council and Administration will miss the valuable perspective and input that he brought to the Council table. Due to personal reasons and other business commitments, Mr.Remillard found himself being unable to attend meetings as necessary.

Given that the resignation has occurred in the same calendar year as a general municipal election, the seat will not be filled for the time being. Council remains at 4 members until the General Municipal Election on Monday, October 20^th, 2025, when all 5 Councillor positions will be elected.

For general knowledge: The Mayor is then appointed internally by the 5 newly elected members at their Organizational Meeting. This appointment for Mayor, occurs annually at the Organizational Meeting.
