Development Permit

A Development Permit is required for any new construction or changes to any existing buildings or land.

You are encouraged to refer to the Land Use Bylaw as a guide for the completion of your development permit application.
The Development Officer is also available to discuss your development.

 

Fees

Residential Development for R-1 & R-2 zoning (each) …………….. $30.00
Residential Development for R-3 zoning (each) …………………….. $75.00
Commercial/Industrial – First $100,000 ………………………………. $75.00
Every additional $100,000 ………………………………………………….. $25.00
Commercial/Industrial – Maximum Fee ……………………………….. $5,000
Permit fee if construction has already commenced is doubled

A development permit application form can be picked up at the Town office or by filling out the form below.  Your completed development permit application and applicable fee can be dropped off at the Town Office or mailed to:

Home Warranty Coverage

Under Alberta’s New Home Buyer Protection Act, builders are required to provide home warranty coverage for all new homes built in Alberta.  No building permit will be issued unless warranty coverage or an authorization for exemption from the coverage requirement is in place.  For more information, contact Municipal Services Public Safety Division at 1-866-421-6929 or visit homewarranty.alberta.ca.
