HIRING: 2024 Census Enumerator

 

Join the Town of Falher’s 2024 Municipal Census Team!
The Town of Falher is conducting a Municipal Census from April 15th to July 15th, 2024, to gather population and demographic information. The census data helps the Town identify upcoming needs in different areas as well as enhance existing programs and services. It provides essential information for planning utilities, roads, emergency services, recreational facilities, and economic development. The results also help secure provincial and federal grants that are awarded based on population count and play an important role in supporting funding projects.

While the census will be conducted online, a door-to-door enumeration of the community will be required for those that could not complete the online census.

Opportunity:
We’re in search of a friendly, motivated, individual to make a positive impact on our community. As an enumerator, you’ll canvas nearly 500 residential dwellings within an 8-10 week period, often requiring multiple visits and follow-up calls. Flexibility in daytime and evening hours is essential to cover assigned districts. Training and maps will be provided.

 

Qualifications:
– Previous census or door-to-door canvassing experience preferred
– Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
– Ability to read maps, communicate clearly, and record information accurately
– Basic iPad/computer proficiency
– Access to personal transportation
– Availability for mandatory training sessions
– Physically capable of extensive walking and climbing stairs
– Ability to work in various weather conditions
– Bilingualism in French & English is preferred


Hours & Compensation:
There is flexibility within the role, however, generally speaking enumeration hours may vary between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays to a maximum of 40 hours per week. This contracted position offers $20/hour without benefits.

– Mandatory paid training session attendance

– Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
