Speed Limit Public Consultation
Throughout 2021, Town of Falher Council has heard from multiple residents throughout Town that speeding is an issue. Council directed staff to conduct traffic studies at various locations within municipal limits. The final reports of these studies can be found here.
Our next step to involve the public for consultation on the possibility of reducing the municipal speed limit. The current speed limit is 50km/h unless otherwise posted. Alternative speed limits are listed below (Traffic Bylaw 15-13). Council is considering reducing municipal speed limits to 40km/h or 35km/h to increase safety on roadways.
2nd Street West from Highway 49 to 7th Avenue ……….. 80 km/hr
Unless otherwise posted the maximum speed in alleys shall be ……….. 20 km/hr
Unless otherwise posted the maximum speed in playgroundzones shall be ……….. 30 km/hr
Unless otherwise posted the maximum speed on all highways within the Town (excluding alleys), shall be……….. 50 km/hr
At this time, Town of Falher Council is inviting public submission on the topic. Citizens may utilize the form below, or alternatively they may call the office at 780-837-2247 Extension 103.
