ASSISTANT CARETAKER
The Assistant Caretaker is a seasonal position at the Falher Regional Recreation Complex, running from late August through mid-to-late March. This role requires availability primarily during evenings and weekends, with up to 20 hours per week.
Reporting to the Full-Time Recreation Complex Caretaker and the Director of Community Services, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation and removal of the hockey ice surface
- Operate ice resurfacing equipment (Zamboni)
- Perform skate sharpening services
- Carry out general janitorial and cleaning duties throughout the facility
- Ensure all entrances are kept clear of snow and debris
- Report patron concerns or facility issues to the supervisor
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working on the ice surface, and operating equipment
- Complete other duties as assigned within the scope of training and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification
- WHMIS certification
- Class 5 driver’s licence
