Municipal elections occur every four years. The next municipal election will be held October 20, 2025.
All 5 Councillor Positions will be open for election.
The Nomination period runs from January 1, 2025 through to September 22, 2025, with the deadline to submit papers being 12:00 p.m. on September 22, 2025.

To be ready to vote, please confirm your information is correct with Voterlink, from which the Town receives its list of eligible voters.
Voterlink is the voter registration platform operated by Elections Alberta.
Where & When to VOTE
Venue and voting times for Election Day will be confirmed closer to the October 20, 2025 Election date. If the Town of Falher has exactly, the minimum required 5 candidates, all candidates will be acclaimed, with no election required. With more than 5 candidates, an election will be required.

Updated Local Authorities Election Act
The Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) governs municipal and school division elections in Alberta. It sets out rules and regulations for candidates, donors, electors, and election administrators that must be followed before, during and after an election.
We strongly encourage curious voters to review the LAEA to gain a better understanding of Municipal Elections in Alberta.
